Developing local integration strategies

In this strand of the project, we will be working with new partnerships that are just embarking on planning integration activities in their localities. We encourage local authorities, libraries, institutions and civil society organisations in municipalities where people with migration experience have settled to form such partnerships.

We will support partnerships in carrying out a local diagnosis of the situation and needs of people with migration experience. We will organise a series of intercultural education training sessions and study visits to localities that already have implemented and working solutions.

We will guide partnerships through a participatory strategic process involving interested individuals, organisations and institutions in the local community. Local hackathons – an open format of public consultation in which residents and institutions jointly devise concrete solutions – will be an important element of this process.

We will also support partnerships in implementing the strategies they have developed.
